There’s one question you need to ask before purchasing your next microwave.
“Can I use the kitchen timer function AND cook at the same time?”
Yes we are in 2015. Yes, some manufacturers make microwaves that do not have this ability. Yes, I recently purchased one. Because, no, I did not ask. Because, no, I did not think I had to.
Because, 2015!!!
Who DOESN’T need that ability???
That’s crazy! But I relate. Ours does the same thing. I’m stuck using oven timer only and if I need 2 timers…the iPhone. Ugh.
Amen! I didn’t know this was an optional thing either. We just bought a new-to-us house that has a fairly new microwave and I was rather annoyed when I discovered this flaw. I guess I need to buy a digital timer because the timer dial on our circa 1979 oven is certainly not accurate.
I totally feel you. Ours is the same way. Why is this not standard?
This is exactly how I blew up my first microwave. Apparently just using the timer also uses the microwave action… And if it has no where for the power to go kablooie!!!!
Yikes!!!
