Last weekend we met up with our good friend Laura Kelly at a conference where I had a speaking engagement. Mayhem adores Laura (as do I) because she’s such a creative enabler.
Laura was there because she works with some pretty amazing companies who were helping to sponsor the event. And Laura didn’t just talk shop about the products, she brought them with her and invited EVERYONE to come sit down and make something fun.
I was headed to sit in a session at the conference, but Mayhem wanted to go hang out with Laura at her “craft table”, so Keith grabbed the camera and took her to hang out with Laura.
45 minutes later I met back up with them only to find they had made the felt dress you see above. And I about died.
I guess since we’ve got a fairly strong paper game, Laura thought it was time to move on to some type of fabric….
I’ve been told that Mayhem did her thing. Only this time with felt, ribbon, buttons and fabric glue.
Oh, and some magical machine that cuts out out shapes …
And in case you haven’t noticed, Mayhem is a bit into fringe these days …
This is her “Dad, I think that’s enough photographs” look ….
I was seriously kind of awestruck when I found out what they made.
So Laura said “Hey, do you want me to send you some supplies?”
And I was all, “No way! I like my paper and tape. You keep your wealth of craftiness to yourself and stop trying to complicate this process that I think I have SOME handle on …” 😉
And so she was all, “Well fine then. Can you pick someone else who might like it that I can give some too?”
So I said “Sure, I have some crafty friends. I can choose someone.”
And then she put together a package of $350 worth of stuff and said “Who should I send it to?”.
And I was all, “Hey I can’t be responsible for choosing the one person to send THAT MUCH STUFF to! That’s the kind of stuff people get unfriended for…”
So she said, “Fine. How about a giveaway instead?”
And I said, “Deal.”
Then she sent me this pic:
So Laura has that awesome bundle of goodies at her studio just waiting for an address to send it to. It includes a Sizzix die cut machine with Laura Kelly pet shop dies, $100 worth of fabric adhesives from iLoveToCreate, $50 worth of Kunin felt, and buttons from Buttons Galore.
So if you’re the crafty type, this one’s for you. Hop to it and enter below or over on Laura’s blog!
Massive thanks to Laura, Sizzix, iLoveToCreate and Kunin for putting together such a generous bundle for us to giveaway!
